Welcome KC Disposal to The Cedars

Provider will collect Solid Waste and Recycling materials on a weekly basis with pickup on THURSDAY.

  1. Solid waste is defined as general household trash. It does not include concrete, shingles, dirt, or other building materials. It does not include hazardous items.
    1. Solid Waste is limited to a 65 Gal. Trash container. Bags and containers should not be heavier than 50 lbs.
    2. All Solid Waste will be delivered for disposal to a local Transfer Station or Landfill in compliance with Kansas State law.
  2. Yard Waste is defined as grass clippings, tree limbs, shrubbery trimmings, and waste from flow and vegetable gardens (including incidental wooden mulch). Yard Waste will be collected and disposed of as a separate stream in compliance with Kansas State Law.
    1. Branches and limbs should be no longer than four (4) feet in length and size (6) inches in diameter. All branches and limbs should be ties in bundles weighing less than 50 lbs. and should be stacked uniformly at the curb.
    2. All Yard Waste must be in brown paper yard waste bags or a maximum of two (2) privately owned plastic trash containers not to exceed thirty-five (35) gal. and clearly labeled as “Yard Waste.”
    3. Yard Waste bag limits:
      1. October through December – 10 bags included
      2. January through September – 6 bags included
  3. Recycling is defined as single stream – no separation needed and includes all papers, cardboard, plastics #1-7, drink cartons, tin, steel, and aluminum cans. Glass is not included in recycling/bulky item pickup.
  4. KC Disposal will provide bulky item pickup of one (1) item per dwelling per month at no extra charge. The pickup date will be on the last THURSDAY of each month.
    1. Residents will not need to contact KC Disposal for the pickup.
    2. Bulky items include: televisions, couches, chairs, tables, mattresses, beds, frames. Anything but appliances, items including motors, or construction debris (such as rocks or dirt).
    3. Additional bulky item pickup will carry an additional charge of $20 per item and will be billed to the homeowner (not the HOA).
  5. Any extra Solid Waste or Yard Waste above what has been included will be an additional charge. Bag cost is $2 each; stickers can be purchased from KC Disposal.
  6. KC Disposal will provide one (1) 65 gallon trash can and one (1) 65 gallon recycling tote per dwelling. KC Disposal will provide repairs to all bins when needed. If a bin is lost or stolen the tenant will be charged a refundable $60 for trash/recycling containers.
